Total sales of China top 100 pesticide companies up 9% in 2014
According to the list of top 100 China agrochemicals companies 2014 published by CCPIA, the 2014 top 100 companies achieved total sales of Yuan 106,334.0 million ($17, 275.8 million, at the average annual exchange rate for 2014), up 9% year on year; entry level on the list increased by 9% to Yuan 324 million($52.6 million) versus the Yuan 297 million($48.3 million) of 2013; sales of 36 companies in the list exceeded Yuan 1,000 million ($162.5 million), accounting for 65% of total sales of Top 100 in 2014.
Among the top 100 pesticide companies of 2014, 6 companies achieved sales of over Yuan 3 billion, they are: Zhejiang Wynca Chemical, Nutrichem Company, Nanjing Red Sun, Shandong Weifang Rainbow Chemical, Zhejiang Jinfanda Biochemical and Hubei Sanonda. Of the above Wynca Chemical achieved the No.1 sales with Yuan 3,805 million, followed by the No.2 Nutrichem Company with Yuan 3,737 million, No.3 Nanjing Red Sun with Yuan 3,574 million. It is noted that 3 companies of the top 6, covering Wynca Chemical, Jinfanda Biochemical and Nutrichem Company, were also on the list of 2013 top 20 global agrochemical firms published by AgroPages, ranking respectively No.14, No.15, No.16.
By a comparison between the 2013 top 10 and 2014 top 10, there are 9 companies maintaining the top 10 positions, but the ranking change is more obvious. Affected by the downward trend of overall market of glyphosate in the second half year of 2014, sales performance of major glyphosate manufacturers showed decline, such as Zhejiang Jinfanda, Jiangsu Yangnong Chemical and Sichuan Leshan Fuhua Tongda, ranking dropped down to No.5, 7 and 8 from the No.2, 5 and 4 last year.Nanjing Red Sun achieved 19% sales growth in 2014, driven by higher price of pyridine-paraquat industry chain; benefit from brand strategy transformation, the sales of Shandong Weifang Rainbow Chemical increased by 12% in 2014.
Among the top 10 companies, Zhejiang Zhongshan Chemical in sales jumped by 140%, due to the inclusion of its subsidiary Anhui Zhongshan chemical business, enabled it to reach No.9 from the No.28 in 2014. Shandong Bingnong Technology fell out of the top 10 and dropped down to No.12 from the No.9 last year. The details are as follow:
